Or, not so warm of a paradise. This last day of 2007 presents a very cold high temperature of 8 degrees celsius with a northern wind that makes it seem closer to zero. It was so cold this morning I put off walking the dog (Bo) until he was dancing in the living room and barking in demand for a walk. Also managed to convince the kids that it would be better to stay inside and play instead going to the local department store. But that only lasted so long, so here I am at the local Starbucks sipping on a short coffee while the kids are in the toy department browsing for their next exploit.
Kind of nervous right now since I have an active EUR/USD trade and cannot connect to the internet from here. I wish Starbucks would setup with YahooBB or some other service besides Flet’s. Hands down, in Japan Flet’s is the worst wireless provider, so if you ever visit, stay away from Flet’s. Besides being difficult to register, they only allow two different MAC addresses, which you have to register in advance, and if you want to add more or change, Flet’s charges about 3,000 yen for the handling costs – a rip off run by backwards, ignorant, government funded losers. Another way of referring to NTT.
Going out to my friend’s house to see in the new year down in Uraga today. Alex and I have been good friends for a long time since Guam days, but recently he moved to Japan, working for yet another friend from Guam. Interesting how all three of us have ended up in Japan. The weather has warmed up since earlier today when I was at Starbucks. It’s interesting getting on the Keikyu line and going down toward Yokosuka, because there are so many foreigners – mostly American and military or military contractors.
